At Smorgasburg we had the Jilli potatoe covered corn dog half cheese filled half hotdog. It was good but needed a hot dog and cheese throughout the entirely of the phallic delicacy. It was crisp, hot and homey.

A bit overhyped, 3.5/5 but rounding up to 4. The ambiance is a bit of a contrast - the interior is dim and intimate, but it was noisy and quite cramped. The dishes are small and made for sharing, so my friends and I ordered a few items. We got the shrimp toast, tuna dip, rigatoni alla kimchi vodka, chimmelier KFC, and nurungji risotto. The shrimp toast sauce paired nicely, but the toast itself was quite oily. Rigatoni was a bit disappointing, the flavor was mild and nothing special. I would not recommend the chimmelier KFC (fried chicken) at all it was soo dry and lacked flavor and the risotto was not memorable. Servers were friendly! A downside is that parking is super difficult.

I'm torn. Such an aesthetic place with great vibes. Some of the food items on the menu were a hit or miss though. Got the shrimp toast which was amazing. So much shrimp and it cakes in giant chunks and a spicy may like sauce to compliment it. Was a bit oily but it was also perfectly crispy. The kimchi rigatoni was amazing also. Flavors paired really well and the kimchi didn't overpower the dish. The cheese on top was also light and creamy without being too sharp. Everything was mild but in the best way. Also my first time eating pasta with chopsticks. The fried chicken in the other hand was very disappointing. Dry, white meat with no flavor. Feel like they prioritized looks than taste. We also got a not so good sitting spot with the view of behind the counter/kitchen. There is also one seat that faces outside with the view of waiting customers. Every other spot seems good though. Food: 4.1/5 (would have been higher if not for fried chicken) Service: 3.5/5 (hard to hear anything very loud. Hard to call waitress) Ambience: 4.3/5

Jilli is a new hip spot in Ktown, and you definitely need a reservation. The first time we came without a reservation, we were told the wait would be 1.5 hours and we never got a call back that night. So we learned our lesson and made a reservation. The space is pretty small, it almost feels crammed. If you want an intimate dinner for a date night, this is NOT the place for you. If you're looking for fun vibe Friday night, jilli is a good time. Vibe is 5/5. Food wise, it's kinda hit and miss. They are tapa style, and here is the break down of what we had: Cucumber salad - 4/5 Tuna dip - 5/5 (super simple and you can make it at home, nevertheless delish) Shrimp toast - 4/5 (very filling) Cheese balls - 3/5 Rigatoni a la kimchi vodka - 3/5 (didnt have enough flavor, I barely tasted any kimchi or the bacon, and very small for the price) Drinks were pretty good.

If you're older than 25 and can afford paying at least $50-60ish per person with drinks then this is a must come when you're in K-town. This is a Korean bar with plates to share. I recommend making a reservation as it seems like walk-ins are hard. Service is attentive and nice. The first time I went there, the server let me try three of their makegeolis, so I could make a more informed decision. Also, the kitchen saw I had sauce left on my plate and gave me bread to wipe it ip. Tight space, dark, and for an almost 40 year old it was loud for me, but the vibe and music brought me back to when I liked staying out past 9:30pm. Their bathroom pays homage to some 90s legends, if you don't recognize them then you're too young. Definitely get the rigatoni alla kimichi vodka. It's savory, tart, creamy, what can I say it hits the spot. Don't sleep on the honey butter chips! I wish they sold these in bags for you to eat at home. Fried chicken is a big portion, we took leftovers for the next day, it was still good. If you drink Korean alcohol on the daily, try something different than what you would normally drink, unless your usual makes your meal taste better. Jilli has some Korean alcohol brands and companies I haven't heard of before. Overall: I thoroughly enjoyed my two experiences.

A real modern twist to Korean food! I came here twice this month- just had to introduce my friends to this spot. Don't underestimate this spot, it's really small but the food is amazing. They have a small selection of makeogli, I really like Korean rice wine so I highly recommend to check those out. The must order here is the rigatoni alla kimchi vodka. I've never had pasta like this before. The flavor of the sauce is so rich and unique. Another must have is the Chimmelier Korean Fried Chicken, very juicy white meat served with a complimentary dipping sauce. The portion for the chicken is so generous too, love it! The K bruschetta stands out as well because the kimchi adds a touch of freshness to the burrata. The second time I tried the cheese curds and my friend was obsessed. Personally I don't eat seafood but my friends enjoyed the shrimp toast as well as the scallop pasta. Again, cannot emphasize on the very generous portions! I will be back to try the chicken baos and the honey butter chips. Can be a cute date spot or a hang out with good friends!
